We’re past the point of no return now with the Bay Area’s foremost rap duo The Jealous Guys. Based on all evidence they just don’t know how to make a song that’s anything less than totally gripping. And in Chasen Paper they have an in-house director who can capture their vision on film and depict Ayinde and Casa’s gritty yet classy personas with flair. Produced by the much heralded Clams Casino, ‘Brainwashed By London’ is one of The Love Mixtape’s many highlights (download it for free below and buy their Lunice-produced single ‘Bus Stop Jazz’ if/when you instantly become a fan) and more than anything makes one wonder that if this is the level of music they’re making at such an early stage in their career, what kind of stone-cold classics are we going to get blessed with in six months or a year? Damn.
