It’s actually getting ridiculous how unimpeachably dope each and every one of Brenmar’s releases are. The Chicagoan’s music is up there with anyone you hold in high regard. And his latest single ‘Let’s Pretend’, off the upcoming EP of the same name to be released on Hum & Buzz on October 31, is just another reason why we consider this man to be one of the best doing it – not least because of the unabashedly hypnotic, punch-packing samples, the always soulful core (presumably implanted from his deep love of R&B), the dexterity of all the best garage anthems and the sonic quality of any house classic you might care to mention. Genius, as usual. And the next Daft Punk if he continues on this trajectory. (He will).
