The ‘Twelve 12s’ series is back with our 41st installment – an all Hit Squad special from Rob Pursey!
“Taking the records from the time when one of the first major crews – The Hit Squad – all started collaborating and releasing under this umbrella, this is a mix of many of the alternative versions of tracks only found on the 12″s from a short time period of about 1990-1992. So you have obviously the 12″ remix to the marquee Hit Squad track that EPMD assembled with Redman, Das EFX and K-Solo. alongside other remixes and non-album tracks from Erick and Parrish and their affiliates. Some real gems from the remixes Pete Rock did for the crew to the super-rare at the time Redman ‘Tonights Da Night (Remix)’ and 12″ only jams like ‘Hard Like A Criminal’ and ‘Brothers From Brentwood L.I.’ This is one guaranteed to take you back to that rugged Timberland stomping era of the early 90s! Enjoy!”
