There appears to be a strong sub culture in parts of France’s hip-hop community that has a strong penchant for west coast, mainly LA, gangbanger music; which we suspect is accompanied by a distaste for typical French streetwear brands in favour of Chucks, khakis and Locs. The above supremely slick video trailer comes from French rappers Gizo (a young french rapper from Grigny, Essonne (91)) and Kayse‘s (a well known rapper/producer from Clichy sous Bois, Seine-Saint-Denis (93)) upcoming collaborative album ‘La Conquête du Monde’, which features such left coast artists as Kurupt and Snoop. And this video by MSJ, B.E.Double S, Faya Blow and Aelpéacha, entitled ‘MS DEF IDF (2e DEFonce)’ is further proof of the movement. Enjoy!
