What better way to end the year than with another potent example of Huntsville’s reign over our ears and by extension lives. Brought to you by Betta Half, a group that already dropped a classic in 2009 and is, crucially, quality controlled to Codie G standards – of the highest realm, that is – and composed by a production team that less push buttons as pluck heart strings, this song, off Betta Half’s ‘AWOL’, available to buy on CD Baby, should serve as a lesson to all producers that a sample must first be imbibed and embodied before it’s flipped. Just beautiful.

And just in case you’re worried the album won’t all be as incredible as the above, check the below and cop the album for your soul.

UPDATE: Once again Block Beattaz sample one of my all time favourite records ‘Stay’ by Rufus feat. Chaka Khan and kill it! Those Rufus albums from the mid to late 70s are wall to wall classic and this track is one of the best with Chaka bringing the emotion like only she can.
