This is it. Slow Motion Soundz release the official cover art for G-Side’s ‘One…The Cohesive Album’, which is out on 1.1.11. We’ll leave you with statements from the artist John Turner Jr and the commissioner Codie G, while we just sit and stare at this breathtaking piece, wondering what the album will sound like, knowing that it will probably sound like this looks.

John Turner Jr:

“10 months and 4 days ago, I was asked to do the cover for ONE…The Cohesive Album. Based on previous collaborations with others, I expected a list of specific directions. Instead, a few days after our initial phone call, I received a single photograph from Codie G – a hand with the index finger extended , the one.  No other guidelines came after that.  Every later conversation revolved only around the inspirations forming the concept that SMS saw for this album. For me, the creative freedom was unexpected, but as I received instrumentals (not all SMS related), youtube links (many unrelated to music completely), and random pictures (sometimes just random colors), it all started to take form.  By March I pieced it all together into the cover you see above; although the exchange of concepts didn’t cease then and neither did the visuals… more on that in due time.”

Codie G:

“After 10 months of going back and forth with John Turner, Jr., I present to you the album cover for G-Side’s, Block Beattaz, and Slow Motion Soundz most anticipated release of our careers. This cover is only the tip of the iceberg of the artistic value that will be included in this album. A lot of people don’t consider hip hop music a form of art anymore. I pray after 1.1.11 that mood of the music will return to mist of the music buying, listening, and criticism process. Going into this project we felt like we had done accomplished a lot of things based on the artistic value over the political side of the business. We went to Norway without a deal or a million dollars on the glass. The music these guys are producing right now paralleled with the artwork will leave whoever experiences this album in a moved state of mind. Meaning we don’t want to kill your brains cells with Clear Channel formatted songs. Hopefully they will be left feeling this is the best album they have ever heard. Below is another song for me personally that influenced my thinking on this record. 1.1.11 is less than 35 days away.”
