The latest weary, half drunk, half hungover, but totally stimulating jam from Ghostpoet (the more decipherable, slightly less inward Roots Manuva who can call Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Records his home) is what it feels and sounds like half drunk, half unconscious in the back of a cab after a rave – the bumping but muted beat reminiscent of that Funktion One bass echoing in your head a good half hour after leaving the venue. Everything about this track guarantees a big payoff after repeated listens. Get stuck in.
