Money Addict

After Burn One and G-Mane‘s perfect ‘Smoke Some Kill’ mixtape (officially and scientifically certified as better than most rappers’ albums of the last few years) and G-Side‘s beautifully ethereal ‘Starshipz & Rocketz’, both full marks in our books, we thought we’d had our ‘Bama fix for the next couple of months.

Like any burgeoning scene though, Huntsville keeps creating it and we’re now blessed with this excellent Block Beattaz-produced PRGz and Slow Motion Soundz collaborative release from the Chi Town-born, Bama-bred Money Addict.

It’s simply not possible to overstate how the state of Alabama is now the epicentre of truly breathtaking hip-hop, thanks to its growing roster of slept-on-for-too-long artists, but also to the man Codie G, who is persistently pushing the scene to the unconverted and building a strong army of believers – Southern Hospitality vehemently included.
