We’ve been waiting patiently for a Curren$y full-length for a minute at SH, and now it’s here, we can confidently say that our belief in the boy was worth it. When he left Wayne, it seemed like a surprise move, however, Curren$y clearly knew what he was doing and has developed into a seriously great emcee. If for some reason you’ve never checked the dude, then there are a load of mix-tapes out there which are a cut way above your average (get your Google on – remember to include the $!), although maybe this is the best place to start for the uninitiated. If you want a reference point, think Fabolous/Mase looseness mixed with the lyricism of the Clipse, but Curren$y is definitely just him – a straight ahead, dope, natural rapper. Check this little Tribe tribute for evidence:

For further evidence, peep our homie The Martorialist’s fave ‘Scared Of Monsters’ and the tune that has apprently soundtracked our own Davey Boy Smith’s weekend in the London sun – ‘Blown Away’.

Both the above are featured on his album and if you’re a digital downloader then we recommend you consider purchasing ‘This Ain’t No Mixtape’ for the small sum of $8.99. Classy stuff from start to finish.
