It’s a big day in the sunny Bay-yay-yay today with four major album releases (and one Messy Marv comp) from AP.9 of the Mob Figaz (Reality Check), Philthy Rich (Funk Or Die), Cellski (Culinary Arts Institution) and by far the strongest of them all, The Jacka & Berner, with their collaborative album Drought Season 2.

It’s hard to think of a recent track from Jack as affecting as this since the glorious Aspen and Summer. And whatever you do, don’t sleep on Berner: he keeps it smooth, mind-settlingly uncomplicated and 2012 London Olympics-level chiefed up – and brings the best out in The Jacka, by inspiring him to stay in this gangsta melancholic zone and create spreadable, salted butter-soft street psalms.

Listen, and enjoy.
