It's no secret that after well over a decade in the game, the Block Beattaz and Slow Motion Soundz time is now. Whether through G-Side's circumventing the rap game and taking over everything else, the Block Beattaz' cementing of their sound in the more mainstream rap consciousness via MMG boy Stalley's Savage Journey To The American Dream (10 of 14 productions are by the now 10-deep production team) and the continued rise of the O'Third Ent side of the label – Family Ties and Zilla Shit being two of the best releases in 2011.

Zilla Shit 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to Zilla's debut, and is all we had hoped for. The now slightly maturer sounding rapper still has a power to his voice that feels effortless even when he's going double time, and visions from his street stories come straight to the front of your mind's eye, such is the authenticity with which he tells them. Highly recommended listening.
