Radio Show Archive

In 2007 Southern Hospitality decided that we wanted to make a radio show, so every month we got ourselves on lock down at our good buddy DJ Dub's South London studio along with our good friend Kosher and produced, what we think, was one of the best radio shows around. Breezy drops the knowledge and (big) puns - whilst Superix is stricly on turntable duties. We may well bring the show back but we all got so darn busy with touring, shows & festivals - we simply don't have the time at the moment! Please enjoy the shows below...

Radio Show 7

The music is on fire this week, as Turf Talk inspires both an impromptu rewind from Kosher and something approaching an apology to Rob for all his previous Bay Area hate. Paul Wall is now not only the ‘King Of The Parking Lot’, but is now in the Southern Hospitality Hall of Fame as well – just. Onyx are described as the ‘Hip Hop Smurfs’, by Kosher, thus adding to the list of people we’ve insulted over the weeks. We remember Freaky Tah and the year 1990 and analyse Lil Wayne’s new emotional direction. The music speaks for itself from the return of Kanye and Common to new Jeezy and Dizzee, not forgetting the Urban Riverdance beats of Dude N Nem! Bar Mitzvah – BANG!

Radio Show 6

This week’s ’95 Throwback mix from Rix gets Kosher amped, whilst Rob is still touchy about the previous week’s comments regarding Johnny Cash aka Tha ‘Fast’ Gunna. Kool G Rap refuses to fight fair in the School Of Hard Raps and we predict the future as we introduce the world to Dude N Nem’s ‘Watch My Feet’. Jim Jones gets annihilated in the Hall Of Fame, whilst the latest jawns come from Freeway, Dem Hoodstarz, Turf Talk, David Banner and the return of everyone’s favourite chair flinger Keith Murray!

Radio Show 5

Rob has returned from the Bay Area and can barely contain his excitement at buying a Mac Dre mask, only for Kosher to tarnish the legacy of Johnny Cash aka Tha Fast Gunna (Thizz In Peace) during a controversial Moment Of Silence. Big L goes to the top of the class for Literacy in The School Of Hard Raps and Kim loses to Lyte – sorry Kim. Kosher spends most of the show apologising, but we do have time for new music from Dizzee Rascal, Eve, UGK, Outkast and The Fixxers – and of course another classic throwback from Rix – this time 1989 (“A number, another summer, get down etc…”)

Radio Show 4

We enrol David Banner into the School Of Hard Raps (only to expel him almost immediately). Kosher and Rob discuss the Scott Storch/Timbo beef and conclude that Timothy ain’t worried. Young Jeezy fares better than you might think in the Hall Of Fame, and we pay respect to the one and only Jam Master Jay. Our very own JMJ, Superix, takes us back to 93’ for an epic mix as well as bringing us new music from Crime Mob, Peedi Crakk, Keak Da Sneak, B.G. and 8Ball and MJG.

Radio Show 3

It’s the turn of the fat twins in the School Of Hard Raps, and Kosher makes sure we all now have a bounty over our heads, with some of his comments. We try and make up for it by paying our respects to another slightly large fella – Biggie, whilst Superix takes it back to ‘91 for a vintage hip-hop throwback mix and Kosher gets all teary-eyed about his first break-up, when he consoled himself by listening to Diamond D. The music is as fresh as you could hope including cuts from Kanye West, DJ Khaled, PSD, Zion I and Mac Dre – not to mention Rob confusing his co-host once again with some ‘Trance Rap’

Radio Show 2

Three 6 Mafia enter the School Of Hard Raps, Superix indulges Rob with a dope Bay Area mix – much to Kosher’s confusion, and Lupe suffers in the Hall Of Fame against the greatest storyteller of all time. This is all before we take a moment of silence for Big L and bring you a glut of fresh music courtesy of the likes of Swizz Beats, Prodigy, Nas, Devin The Dude and Rich Boy to name but a few. Oh yeah – and Kosher explains why you should never ride a motorcycle in your home – even if you are 50 Cent.

Radio Show 1

Kosher explains the real meaning of the word ‘chirps’ as T.I. goes head to head with Atlanta legends Outkast. Willie D intimidates everyone on the studio just by saying words on a record. Rix takes it back in time and we discuss Lil Wayne’s eye-tattoos. Music from 50 Cent, Snoop, Clipse, Ghostface and others fills the gaps.
